Best time of the day to get married in Positano | Positano Wedding planner
What is the best time of the day to get married in Positano?
As a Positano Wedding Planner I’m usually asked this question from brides from all over the world. The only answer I can give to this question is: “it really depends on the type of Ceremony you want to plan in Positano but be aware that the wedding receptions in Italy start later than in England or in USA or in many other foreign countries”. Since I started to be a Positano Wedding Planner in 2003 I have answered to this question many times and I have been always obliged to explain the reasons why some venues have established fixed timings for wedding ceremonies. For Catholic Ceremonies, in the Positano’s Cathedral, the only available timing in the afternoon is 4:00 p.m. For Civil Ceremonies, on the stunning Town Hall sea view terrace it is possible to plan ceremonies from 3:00 p.m. to midnight. For Symbolic or Protestant Ceremonies the timing is usually related to the wedding venue you choose. The Hotel Marincanto just accept ceremonies at 6:00 or 6:30 p.m.in high season while in low season at 5:30 p.m. The main reason of this choice of fixed timings is related to the swimming pool use of the guests of the hotel; the venue cannot close the swimming pool earlier than the official time. The San Pietro Luxury Hotel just accepts ceremonies from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Some other venues may accept different timings according to the bridal couple choice: Terrazza dei Sogni, Eden Roc, Covo dei Saraceni, Palazzo Murat, Le Agavi. Private villas: in case you are among the VIP and lucky brides booking one of the luxury villas on the higher part of Positano for at least 3 days to 1 week (saturday – saturday) you will be able to choose the timing you prefer.Sunset in Positano
Some couples usually ask me, that they would like to plan an outdoor Ceremony in Positano, in order to see the sunset during the Ceremony and to enjoy magical pictures with the sunset. I never want to destroy couples dreams about romantic sunsets and pictures but I always have to explain to them that in Positano the sunsets are over the mountains and not over the ocean. The sunset in Positano is not the classical impressive sunset on post- Cards. If you want to take some pictures with a stunning sunset behind Capri you just have to do 15 minutes drive and join Praiano by car.Sunset timings – Approx
Sunset in April in Positano at approx 7:30/7:45 p.m. Sunset in May in Positano at approx 8:00/8:15 p.m. Sunset in June in Positano at approx 8:30 p.m. Sunset in July in Positano at approx 8:20 p.m. Sunset in August in Positano at approx 7:30/ 8:00 p.m. Sunset in September in Positano at approx 7:15/ 6:50 p.m. Sunset in October in Positano at approx 6:40 p.m.Tips and Tricks about timing if you don’t have a wedding planner
Pay a lot of attention to the TIMING OF THE WEDDING DAY
Transports: In case the getting ready takes place in a different venue from the one chosen for the wedding ceremony and reception make sure to book a wedding car to join it. Be aware that in particular in July and August there is a lot of traffic in Positano and also during weekends on June and September. Time for the photographer: Make sure the timing of your wedding day will include enough time for the photographer. In some months of the year there is a short time of light after the ceremony, that is why according to where you are getting married you should have to do a different timing for pictures. Choose a local professional photographer: I highly suggest to book a professional local photographer in Positano who often works in Positano to be in safe hands, who knows the lights principles of Positano, the sunsets and all the corners that could be perfect for your wedding photos. Only a professional local photographer will be able to use even a limited amount of time to do amazing pictures, because, for sure, he has done hundreds of other weddings in that village. In Positano in order to do wedding photos the photographer will have to ask for an official permission at the local Town Hall. In case you don’t have a wedding planner make sure your photographer will have asked for that permission. 0
